Self-interested social progress

January 15, 2016

It is wrong to ridicule people about what they look like.  The conglomerate's ridiculing me about what I look like is the least of the problems that it has caused me.

However, it occurred to me last year that it could be that the reason that there has been any social movement toward stopping fat shaming is that food corporations make money off people eating too much.  If there weren't money to be made from telling people that what you look like is your business and that someone who hassles you about it is wrong, the food corporations would have attacked that idea just the way that greedy people have attacked every other socially progressive idea that anyone has ever had.

That's the Web address of an article about the food industry and also about pharmaceutical industry fraud that has killed people.

That's the Web address of an article called "10 Things the Food Industry Doesn't Want You to Know."
