People who can pay their college tuitions and fees without student loans or grants probably don't have to work as hard in their classes as people who get financial aid.

I'm not saying that every rich person who goes to college gets a degree without doing schoolwork.  I do think that probably a lot of rich people who don't do the work graduate from colleges from which real students were rejected because each college only accepts a certain number of people who have to depend on financial aid.

A half-educated lout is less of a menace to society than a totally uneducated lout; that doesn't mean that the educational system is fair in the way that its resources are distributed.
