What's happening to me is a lot worse because of the conglomerate, but it's known to homeless people that living in shelters means being abused. Some homeless women get raped by staff at homeless shelters; that hasn't happened to me, but I have no idea what the male staffperson who has harassed me for most of a year at the Pine Street Inn is going to try to do to me or to someone else because his behavior is being reinforced by a negligent and abusive system.
This is what it means to be poor.
