I recorded how I was being treated in my Chinese class. At the beginning of the semester, in class, in front of everyone, I asked for and got verbal permission from the teacher to record the classes. Whenever I used a tape recorder, it was on my desk where everyone could see it.
I have an entire class audio recorded that shows my appropriate participation in class, my being coughed at for an hour by the male student who has harassed me for weeks and his friend, and the teacher's anger at me because I asked her to tell them to stop.
The Dean of Students had a meeting with me yesterday. She said the recording was illegal because I would have had to get written permission from everyone in the class before I recorded. She refused to listen to it. She has accepted the unsubstantiated testimony of five students from the class who told her a bunch of lies; at least half of those five students bullied me in her class, in front of her, this semester, while she did nothing to stop it.
I was also accused of harassment by my writing teacher, who I'm sure never disclosed to the Dean or to anyone else most of the emails that he ever sent me.
I have been given a no-contact order for both of those professors, and also been told, today, in a letter from the Dean of Students, not to contact the person to whom the complaints were made, who wrote an absolutely horrible and untrue report about me, and who will testify against me at the Code of Conduct Board Hearing next week
