Voyeurism and involuntary pornography are forms of sexual abuse; a lot of what happens to women in the entertainment industry is sexual abuse, and that industry socializes people not to think of it that way. I think that most of the famous people with whom I have interacted have resisted my interpretation of what has happened to me because they don't want to feel like they've done something wrong. That doesn't mean that they're people who would participate in or condone a physical rape of anyone.
I'm not inviting people who have abused me to my house or to Boston. I'm not telling them to call me or contact me. Every day, I talk about my perspective and am entirely clear about what I think about what has happened to me.
I don't think I'm enabling anyone to abuse me or anyone else. Nobody has to accept my opinion just because it's my opinion. The people who have abused me have the rest of my life to witness what I will have to deal with because of their exploitative and inappropriate behavior. I won't have to try to make them sorry; they have consciences, and they will be.
