That's the address of an article that seems to be a succinct description of the significance of a Supreme Court decision that was made on Monday of this past week.

The title of my page is a quote from Sonia Sotomayor's dissenting opinion.  

What she wrote is an important discussion of rights and of race, and illustrates why women and minorities who have a practical understanding of reality need to be represented at the highest levels of society, government and power.  

The things that she wrote, although I understood their implication, also told me about something that I never knew and that most white Americans probably don't know:  "the talk."  It's heartbreaking.
