If the University of Virginia hadn't contacted Phi Kappa Psi about sexual assault allegations until Ms. Erdely started her investigation, why wouldn't the University of Virginia at least then tell Phi Kappa Psi about all of the allegations, including Jackie's about September 28, 2012?
Either the school didn't tell Phi Kappa Psi about all the allegations, or Mr. Scipione lied about the "mid-September" assault date in an interview that he gave after the Rolling Stone article was published.
