At the police department's website, each incident is followed by prevention tips, advice and contact information for resources.


These incidents, and others previously reported at the website, took place at a world-renowned university that is, according to Google Maps, 111 miles from Washington D.C., the capital of the United States.  

In 2016, U.S. News & World Report tied the University of Virginia's law school for #8 with the law schools at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
