Do you think that what has happened to me would be funny if it happened to you? Have you thought about why you think it is that you think it could never happen to you? Have you considered the possibility that I'm dehumanized by the people who are torturing me, and that's why they act like what has happened to me is something that I asked for or something that I deserve?
Do you think that what's happening to me isn't as bad as it would be if it had happened to a man? Do you think that it's the sort of thing that anyone could expect would happen to someone who's female, because everyone knows that some women get treated this way and it's the way the world is?
Do you think it's funny because I'm middle-aged? It's funny because it's happening to an aging woman, rather than to a beautiful woman your age, which would really be something for people to feel bad about?
Have you thought about why you think the things that you think? Has it occurred to you that your mentality is something that you have gotten from other people and that you have never questioned?
Have you ever read anything about the women's movement? Do you think that female inequality is in the past and not part of the contemporary world?
Have you heard of the term "male privilege"? Has it occurred to you that privileged people frequently don't know that they're privileged?
