If gender roles weren't so codified, I don't think there would be so many people feeling like they have the wrong bodies.

I never thought of myself as female first and human second; I always thought of myself as human and female.  I never wanted to be another gender.

My being female and what I look have made a lot of people over the years think that they could push me around.  My being female and what I look like have also surprised some people into thinking that I'm too aggressive once they hear me talk, for saying things that they never would have had a problem with a man saying; they also never would have treated a man the way they treated me, at least not without expecting to get punched.

I try not to punch people.  I also try not to get pushed around.
