I just got a bed from the lottery. 2 of the past 4 nights, I didn't. I only got a few hours of sleep on each of those nights.
It can't be that difficult for someone who knows how to write a computer program to write a program that would randomly assign people beds, but that would also keep track of who hadn't gotten a bed so that nobody went without one for more than one night per week.
