We don't have the land, time or money to help refugees.

We have to make sure that we save those resources to build more of these:

And these:

And these:

All of the above, including the title, is sarcastic.

Those are Web addresses for individual search results that I got from doing searches of the terms "american chain restaurants," "american bars," and "american theme parks," respectively.  There are thousands of other terms that I could have searched to say the same thing.

I'm as American as anyone.  I like fun, I like food, although I don't drink and wouldn't choose an amusement park for a vacation.  I just think that the "American way of life" should be less about doing everything that we can to make sure that nothing disrupts our placidly self-centered lifestyle and more about helping people when they need it.

Syrian refugees have no reason to like ISIS and a lot of reason to like whoever will help them in this time of crisis.  If we care for them, I think they'll do a lot to police themselves; they're not going to protect people who want to hurt the people who have helped them.

Of the people who have fled Syria, how many have turned out to be terrorists?  What if the world judged the United States by the violent acts that some Americans commit against other Americans?

If a few countries are overburdened with refugees because many countries refuse to help, there won't be enough resources and people to keep track of every refugee, and it will be easier for terrorists to be undetected.

We should take as many refugees as we possibly can who also want to live in the United States.  If there are millions, we should take millions.  What is a world where everyone wants 10 million Facebook friends, yet would let the same number of people die or live in misery?

Terrorists wage war on civilians.  Until the governments of countries whom terrorists attack have determined how to stop all terrorism, sadly, casualties are to be expected.  Terrorism and civil war are not the fault of civilians displaced by terrorism and civil war, no matter what color or religion those civilians are.
