Some portrayals of people who start by hating each other and then fall in love are amusing, but it's not a nice way to live, and it's a theme that the entertainment industry uses too much. Probably, the entertainment industry depends on that theme because its hatred of and contempt for women mentally incapacitates it from portraying healthier relationships.
Abuse is never amusing, although abusers usually think that it is.
