It should be a felony because it ruins lives and because it can lead to felonies such as aggravated assault, rape and murder.
It is also a crime which the victims are never able to leave in their pasts. They have to spend the rest of their lives trying to remove their images from the Internet, and they are never able to remove their images from private circulation. They and their friends and families are vulnerable to innuendo, bullying and extortion all of their lives. It is a crime that never ends.
