I hope that people who have read the pages that I have written about messages that have gotten sent to my blogs are realizing that the stigma of mental illness and the discrimination that happens to people because of that stigma are severe and are also almost totally unquestioned by society everywhere. You don't have to be mentally ill to be stigmatized and discriminated against for being mentally ill; all you have to have is a diagnosis or people who want to diagnose you as being mentally ill and to abuse you because of it. NOBODY'S trauma that is a result of having a diagnosis or having been a mental patient ends when someone gets out of the hospital or gets over an episode of actual mental illness; EVERYBODY who has those experiences has societal trauma for the rest of his or her life.
Substitute the word "black" or any other racial or ethnic description everywhere that people sending me messages calling me crazy use words to say that I'm crazy, and think about what the behavior of those people indicates.
