Although the "mental health" police officer to whom the police station gave my case is frequently condescending to me, I don't think that he's invested in obfuscating evidence the way that the Charlottesville Police Department is invested in protecting fraternities who rape people. If someone tells him that there really are cameras in the apartment, I think he'll do something about it.
I also think that he wants to help me continue to be housed, but it will be much less difficult for him to do that if people are telling him that my saying the cameras are in the apartment is not a false accusation or a delusion. The way things are now, everything is being approached as if I did something wrong by saying that there are cameras in the apartment.
A crime is being committed against me by my landlord; cameras in my apartment are a criminal violation of my privacy. I am being retaliated against by the landlord for saying "Remove the cameras from my apartment." As far as the police are concerned, the investigation is over and there are no cameras in my apartment. Their inaccurate conclusion is going to be exploited by the property management to say that the property management didn't do anything wrong; the opinion of the police is really important in disputes and court cases. It is treated as if it is the truth and proof of what has or hasn't happened. That's why I didn't talk to the police as soon as I moved to the apartment. I knew they wouldn't take me seriously. I knew they wouldn't really investigate. I knew they would condescend to me. I knew that their conclusion that I was delusional would help the property management continue to abuse me. Before I even got the apartment, I knew that everything would happen exactly the way it has happened.
It is difficult to get an apartment when you're as poor as I am. I'm going to be homeless if someone doesn't email those people.
