Psychiatric stigma is a very adaptable stereotype.

August 22, 2017

There's no one way that you can act to avoid being discriminated against or to prove that you're sane.  People use it to describe anything about you that they don't like, or to excuse anything that they do to you to which you object.  You are exposed to all of the idiosyncrasies of people's problems; your stigmatized vulnerability makes them feel that they can do anything they want to you, so there you are observing all of their individual craziness being thrown onto you, and when you tell them to stop or ask other people to tell them to stop, you're treated as if you made it up.  Your crazy stories about other people are all from your diseased imagination; that's how you're treated for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

It is a living death sentence.
