I'm not telling you whom to date. What I'm saying is that you don't have the right to humiliate people.
When you are a bigger star than the person whom you're dating, you can really hurt that person. You can hurt her reputation and her career. One thing that you say about her can be a burden to her for all of her life.
You are also a white man in a racist, sexist industry, so you have more power to hurt other people in that industry than you would have in a less anachronistic business.
It's not too much to ask that you be respectful and discreet, even if you think that the person doesn't deserve it; maybe especially then.
