Unfortunately, he doesn't realize that his bad behavior is exploited by bigots to excuse abusing gay people; for more than 4 years, he has failed to realize that. He has not intellectually progressed much past where he was at 18, but that's not an excuse to violate his human rights or to oppress anyone.
It is particularly annoying when goodlooking people take other people's attempts to defend them for granted; it's as if they don't know that they have rights, how sexually resistable they are, or that what's most tempting about them is to take offense at their vain, cruel behavior and to leave them to the inexorable ravages of time, the world's bigotry and their own ignorance.
