"I'd have to subpoena the police department to find out what their investigative procedure was.
I'd have to hire a 3rd party, like a private investigator, to confirm that the cameras are in the apartment.
That's not the type of service that we provide.
Do you understand?"
"I understand that I'm poor, and so I can't stop people from exploiting me, and I can't get help."
"This has nothing to do with you being poor."
Sure it doesn't; and her asking me "Do you understand" had nothing to do with her assumption that I'm crazy and/or stupid.
I have understood from the beginning, and I have had to sit through being condescended to by one person after another who is supposed to help me, while all the rich people and organizations who watch me in my apartment ridicule me for being a human being who has to use a toilet, even though I haven't used the toilet, taken a shower or changed my clothes without turning off the lights since I moved to the apartment last year. They are happily anticipating my 3rd round of homelessness in 6 years.
I spent money yesterday for photocopies and a binder full of information that the lawyer to whom I spoke today refused to read; she wouldn't even look at it. When she was done talking, I stood up, left the binder on the table, and walked out, saying "Why don't you toss it in the trash? That's where you think it belongs, like me."
