Wouldn't it cost a lot of money and be a lot of paperwork?
Aren't the people whom it protects doing productive things? They are contributing positively to the country, aren't they?
What happens if they suddenly can't work, can't attend school, can't pay their rent, can't pay their bills? What are they supposed to do; fill all the homeless shelters past capacity while they are tracked down by the government?
Texas and every state around Texas already have a homeless crisis, don't they? Aren't there suddenly thousands of homeless, American citizens?
Why should government resources have to be diverted to identifying and deporting hundreds of thousands of noncitizens who are living independently, when there are thousands of traumatized, American citizens, entire families, sleeping on cots and floors?
I can't believe that how I live every day is suddenly what thousands of Americans can't have. I have a mattress. I have clean sheets, a blanket and a pillow. I have food every day, a shower every day (hopefully not videotaped), clean clothes to wear every day and clean nightclothes to wear at night.
