I'm not being abused because I like it or deserve it. I'm being abused because rich and otherwise powerful people have persecuted me for 7 years and I can't stop them.
People who are poor already have difficulty being treated equally when nobody is specifically trying to hurt them every day and they're only being subjected to the vicissitudes of poverty.
