You have to have a degree to be a doctor; why shouldn't you have to have a degree to have the chance to influence millions of people starting from what used to be called an impressionable age?
There are some people who work in the entertainment industry who have some education; however, they are outnumbered by the people who don't. Because they are outnumbered, they don't tend to get smarter but instead are dragged down or stymied by the people around them. Overall, it is one of the stupidest industries on the planet, and it ought to be one of the smartest.
Everyone who works in that industry who is 24 or older should have to have a college degree; that means everyone, not just the actors. Children should not be taken out of school to work in that industry. Everyone in the entertainment industry should have to graduate from high school, and everyone who works in that industry from 18 to 24 should have to be going to college at least part-time.
The general education requirements for people at performing arts schools should not be trivial classes. There ought not to be people graduating from those schools who have no sense of history, math, science or their own language.
